Khelo Chess India Classical Rating from 17 October: Come and Take Part
The current superstars of the Indian chess team, World Champion D Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa, Arjun Erigaisi and Nihal Sarin, are today strong players in every format of the game, but the foundation for all of them was laid in classical chess. From childhood, all of them grew up playing classical events across India and around the world. It is classical chess that, in the true sense, balances your process of thinking, of understanding the game and then of taking the right decision. That is why it is important for every budding player to play it, and that is why we are organising the Khelo Chess India Classical tournament in Bhopal every three months, and we invite you to come and take part in this event.
The series of Khelo Chess India tournaments in Bhopal is now gradually approaching its 100th edition, and as part of it, besides rapid and blitz, we are also organising FIDE classical events. Let us see how you can take part.
The main details of the tournament are included on this page. The total prize fund is one lakh rupees, while the entry fee is 1,000 rupees. The tournament will run for 6 days, with double rounds on three days and a single round on three days, so that players get ample opportunity to rest and prepare.
Note: Please note that the final day's round has been moved to the morning and will now be played at 10 am.
The tournament will once again be held at the Sage International School campus on Kolar Road, Bhopal.
The games will be played in Khelo Chess India's air-conditioned hall.
The games on the top 4 boards will be broadcast live through DGT boards.
